The Hoare family own and run Huntington House and Langham Court with an emphasis on their family ethos.
Marilyn has been caring for members of the local community since 1970. As an entrepreneurial nurse her first venture was to convert a hotel into Hindhead Nursing Home. She then acquired Huntington House as a derelict property in 1977. After months of renovation Marilyn opened it as a nursing home and soon gained an unrivalled reputation for her passionate approach to elderly care. Marilyn still helps to maintain the highest standard of care, and if she is not spending time with staff and residents, she will most likely be tending to her sheep!
Geoffrey was once an international squash player - a far cry from the finances of a care home! But when he married Marilyn in 1984, his dedication turned to becoming a Director of the business. His mission has always been to create the best possible environment for our residents to enjoy. From early extensions to current renovations, he always ensures that sympathetic modifications meet with the high standards that everyone has come to expect from Huntington House.
Charlie and Sarah grew up in Huntington House, providing entertainment as toddlers, and mowing lawns and washing up dishes as teenagers. Now, having travelled the world and graduated from university, they are both Directors of the business, and are keen to ensure that the family tradition continues for many years to come.
